This is a circa 1860 6-arm figural gaselier by Cornelius and Company of Philadelphia. Each arm boasts fire-breathing winged dragons in full relief. The main pan of the fixture has 6 applied dog busts, again in full relief, encircled with wreaths of acorns and oak leaves with a hunting horn and medallions of twigs. We have fitted it with 4 inch etched and wheel cut bowls from the 1860s. The fixture is mainly bronze and brass but the main pan is brass plated zinc. Because is was incomplete when we bought it, we have added two period Rococo shaft elements: the urn with the applied acanthus leaf ornaments, and the upper corona with men’s faces. We believe both of these pieces are circa 1860 and were manufactured by Cornelius as well. Approximate dimensions as pictured are: 35" in diameter and 36" in length. This height can be adjusted to your specific requirements. Please try to view this on the website. We should also note that we have another 4-arm gaselier with identical arms but a different superstructure. This is in poor condition at present but could be assembled and photographed if your client is interested in it. In addition we have matching wall brackets available.
