This is a most amazing Counterweight bronze gaselier, dating from the early 1860s. The quality of the casting is unsurpassed, it is one of the best we have ever seen It is in mint original finish. The details are unsurpassed and the more closely you look the casting the more details you see. There are feathered serpents heads, lion's head counter weights, figural heads face below. Fitted with American 1870 fish bowl shades depicting Mermaids, North winds and Wild boars all adorned with ornate foliage. Where do you begin to describe such a piece and where do you stop!

Dimensions:36" diameter, required length a minimum of 40 and will look best at 50 inches or longer.

8 arm Gas and Electric Combination Chandelier. Outfitted with deep electro-etched ( atriple etchiong to the glass) and embossed shades. A rare set of period shades to go on an outstanding chandelier. There are many finely cast details to this fixture. There are figural Art Nouveau woman's faces on the central body and there are numerous additinal cast adornments. Even on the ceiling cap. The fixture has an aged finish that should probably be brightened a bit but all in original untouched condition. Though not electrified yet, the electric candles will give the shades an outstanding glow from both inside and out.
