Item #: #080205-1
"An over the Top" Four Arm Aesthetic Gaselier.with Renaissance details. This gasolier is fitted with deep etched and wheel cut gas shades that pick up many of the details in the cast brass and bonze work that adorn this museum quality chandelier. Two porcelain pieces of Longwy pottery add the Anglo-Japanesque flavor that was so popular during the Aesthetic movement in the United States. The high on the arm filigree is reminiscent of the previous decade's Renaissance Revival rectilinear designs. A highly stylized and magnificent piece of period American gas lighting
American circa 1880

Item #: #C112104-1
Antique 6-arm bronze Exotica Gasolier, circa 1875. This is by far the finest example of an Exotic Gaselier we have ever seen - a truly rare, museum-quality chandelier. Look closely at the Moorish embellishments - flowers and swags, whirls and swirls, and mythical griffin-like figures on the arms. In excellent original condition and fitted with antique deep-etched floral gas shades that mimick the chandelier's overall design perfectly. We believe this fixture is English, but there is a structural element that is signed PGM New York. There are so few reference materials on this style, it is hard to say for sure. It looks as if it came out of Frederick Church's home, Olana along the Hudson. An exotic feast for the eyes, and it needs a good home; how about yours?
Dimensions: 48" in length as shown, 32" in diameter.
